Aluminum bronze threaded gate valves are used as replacement for many Monel, duplex and super duplex grade valves. These are used mostly in sea water, salt water, brackish water and highly corrosive applications. The valves are cheaper compared to the other higher alloys. Larger diameter valves are available in different aluminum bronze grades. Aluminum bronze threaded gate valves use a gate to operate the valve. The gate opens or closes the valve and is connected to the valve stem. The valve stem is fitted with a handle which moves the stem in up or down and the gate opens and closes the valve.

It cannot be used as a control valve. The 316 Stainless Steel Gate Valve is used in sour water services to open and close operations. The twisting of the threaded stem inserts the gate slowly and prevents the water hammer effect on the gate as well. The gate valve can be designed as clockwise opening or counterclockwise opening or closing. This depends on the basis of the application.
